BetterQOL.com is dedicated to bringing research quality of life
measurements to routine clinical care. When a patient with multiple sclerosis currently
sees their physician in routine practice, usually there is no formal
assessment made of the patient's quality of life. BetterQOL.com
wants to change this. Please read our mission statement and our home page if you want to learn more about us.
Right now we want to hear from MS patients and get their input on our plans. We want to know things like...
Are MS patients interested in using a portal that will track their quality of life?
Would having personal data that shows how their overall treatment plans are impacting their quality of life be helpful at a doctor's visit?
Would you visit the BetterQOL portal every 3 months and spend the necessary time to fill out the survey forms?
If no other funding source is found, is this important enough that you would pay a small amount per year to use the portal?
Keep in mind our multiple sclerosis forms will come from the MS Quality of Life Instrument and may take about one hour to fill out. A helper may assist the patient in filling out the surveys as long as they do not coach the patient for the answers. The following sections/topics are included:
General quality of life
Fatigue
Chronic pain
Sexual satisfaction
Bladder control
Bowel control
Impact of vision impairment
Mental Health
Social support needs
Survey of the patient’s perceived deficits
So now that you know our plans... we need your help. Will you spend a few minutes of your time and fill out a survey and give us your input?
